Tour itinerary

We cross the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in Morocco and North Africa. This spectacular journey through the High Atlas Mountains offers a striking contrast between the two slopes: the northern side, with its Mediterranean landscapes, and the southern side, where the scenery gradually transforms into the gateway to the Sahara. On the way down, we stop at Aït Ben Haddou, a historic fortified village renowned for its remarkable earthen architecture and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We then continue our journey to the village of Agdez, the gateway to the magnificent Draa Valley, home to six vast palm groves and breathtaking pre-Saharan lunar landscapes. Finally, we arrive in Zagora, a charming desert town located in the ancestral territory of the Saadian Dynasty. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional desert bivouac in Zagora.
Marrakech - Tizi n 'Tichka Pass - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Zagora (400 km)

We join the main road and head east, passing Erfoud and Rissani, the cradle of the Alawite dynasty. Shortly after, you will have a first view of the dunes of Merzouga. Enjoy a camel ride at sunset in the evening. Spend the night in an inn in the middle of the great dunes. You can even take a camel ride to the big dunes for an evening and a night of bivouac.
Zagora to Erfoud, then to Merzouga (225 km).

An early departure allows you to enjoy the spectacular beauty of a sunrise in the desert. Before leaving for Erfoud and Tineghir, return to the hostel for breakfast. Visit the Todra Gorge and stroll through the Oasis Gardens, which are among the most beautiful in southern Morocco as they have water all year round. Spend the night in Tineghir in a 3-star hotel.
Merzouga - Erfoud - Tineghir - Todra Gorge (175 km)

Departure for Skoura after breakfast. Stroll through the palm grove, which is home to many kasbahs. It is also the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs". The rest of the day will be spent returning to Marrakech, where you will arrive late at night.
